Grasshopper Silk Studio is located in Sierra County, New Mexico near Elephant Butte Lake.   The artist is represented by:

Ms. Hopper creates fine works of art on luminescent silk. Wearable silk art that includes Ruanas or capes, scarves of every length and style.  She loves creating  special occasion and wedding attire, such as cocoon, butterfly jackets, kimonos, and sarongs.  Lovely silk shawls with whispery soft fringe are a specialty.   She also creates unique silk panels for shoji screens.

  The artist worked in oils for over 20 years creating fine works of art.  Allergies to traditional oils precipitated the transition to working with silk.  However, Hopper continues to work in oils on a limited basis and includes a dedicated gallery page just for her oil paintings.

Silk is perfect for every occasion,  from casual cowboy to formal Victorian  and unique custom home decor. Silk is a  durable, easy care yet magnificently elegant fabric.  Cool in summer and warm is winter due to it's natural properties.
  You are welcome to visit the studio to learn about the processes used to create these unique items.  Grasshopper Silk Studio, located at Hot Springs Landing, Elephant Butte Lake, New Mexico is open Sat and Sun from 11am to 4pm, or call for a special appointment
